About The WCSO

The Williamsburg Classic Swing Orchestra began in the mid 1990's with it's first gig at one of the band members' wedding reception. The band was formed by Steve Turner and Chuck Maranzano, two Williamsburg area musicians and educators. The initial goal of the band was to keep the great big band music alive.

In recent years, Chuck Maranzano has been pulled away from the area by his education career and is no longer a regular member of the band. The band is currently run by Steve Turner and Jim Harney.

All of the WCSO members are great musicians from all over the tidewater area. The band members all share the love for jazz music and enjoy the feeling that you can only get as being part of a big band.
